Yes, I attended a vacuum event for Electrolux products. Before I agreed to come by I mentioned that I had just reviewed a vacuum and was very satisfied with the product and wanted them to be aware of this up front. They knew they needed to wow me if they wanted me to share their info with you!
The first product I saw was a large and strong machine called the UltraCaptic.
What impressed me about this particular model was the way you could compress the collected dirt into what I called a dirt cake. I am the house cleaner (when we are in between cleaning ladies, and we are right now!) so I am the one banging the canister against the wall (not smart I know, but that never seems to stop me!) to get the collected dirt out.
This innovative compression system, to get rid of the dirt in the canister, seemed brilliant to me. I told them right then that they had indeed impressed me!
The next product that blew me away was the Ergorapido® Brushroll Clean.
I saw it collect hair off of a bathroom floor. The demonstrator then pushed a button on the back of the vacuum and the hair was cut away and the brush portion was completely clean. I have to sit with my vacuum on my lap and pick the hairs and carpet threads off of my roller, and that takes too much time, and it is a clumsy process.
I was stunned at how well this new feature worked!
There were many other vacuums on display and you can see them on the Electrolux website.
The last item I want to share is the Electrolux PureOxygen Allergy 400 Multi-Pet Allergen & Odor Air Cleaner:
I have had odor and air cleaners with Hepa filters before. In fact, we were eligible for a free one after 9/11. It worked OK, but the above device has some great technology: the demonstrator sprayed some light perfume in the air and you could see the machine activate. I love that degree of sensitivity! This is the machine that could get my bad cooking odors out of this apartment without having to put on 3 fans and open all the windows!
For more information on all their products, please visit the Electrolux website. Their products truly impressed me, they met the challenge!
Disclosure: I received an Electrolux Rapido® (a mini vacuum) and a sample of the ARM & HAMMER™ dry carpet cleaner, as a “thank you” for taking the time to meet with them. This did not influence my review as all opinions are always 100% honest and my own.

I need a new vacuum cleaner, too. I remember when I was little that an Electrolux sales man came to our door to try to sell us a vacuum and my dad ended up getting into a huge fight with the guy because he wouldn’t leave after my father told him we weren’t interested. LOL.

I REALLY need a new vacuum cleaner. Between the pet hair and crumbs on the floor from my toddler, my poor vacuum has gotten the beating. I would love to own an Electrolux. I HATE picking out the hairs from my vacuum too. I could be there all day!

I have yet to meet a decent vacuum that can handle the fur and dirt associated with rabbits, since the fur is so fine, but dense. I gave up years ago, and just use a shop vac, lol. but the deodorizer looks really awesome.
Chelsea says
I think the dirt cake is enough to have me sold. I have pretty much the cheapest model of Dirt Devil and I literally have to shove my hand up inside the canister and pull out all the dirt and hair. It’s awful!! I dread vacuuming!
Kelly Hutchinson says
I love that you challenged them up front! This sounds like a great machine and I need one so badly. Mine does not suck, and that is not a good thing lol
Pam says
That is good that you challenged them upfront to wow you. I have a Shark (which I love). It has to be tough to stand up to kids and pets!
Krystyn @ Really, Are You Serious? says
Is it strange to say I love the idea of the dirt cake? Because I’m usually sneezing and itching like crazy after taking the canister out to the trash!
Laura Collins says
I like the pet odor cleaner.Looks like something you could tuck away it works but you would not know it
Mary Dailey says
Looks like a great vacuum cleaner. Lots of wonderful features.
Jenn says
That does look like a really cool vacuum! We only have wood laminate flooring so I’m not too picky when it comes to vacuums. Back when we had carpet, I would have loved to have had this vacuum!!
Tiffany (Fabulous Mom Blog) says
I’d LOVE to have an Electrolux vacuum. They are the BEST. Love that they challenged you. Sounds like Electrolux passed the challenge. Maybe I should send them a challenge, this girl needs a vacuum that is dependable and that can keep up with my kids and their many messes.

omg it compresses into a dirt cake? never have i heard of this. we have a dog and 2 cats. yellow labs shed a LOT.
and, my beloved oreck is dying 🙁
Pam says
I love Electrolux! I have an Ergorapido® but I don’t have the newest model with the feature you are talking about. That feature is fabulous and now I want it! LOL.
Jenn says
My parents had the same Electrolux for at least a decade from what I remember. Then they bought another one that is still going. They are amazing!
Chrysa says
What a bunch of handy products! We’re in the market for a new vacuum and now I know that I should definitely consider an Electrolux!
Krystle(Baking Beauty) says
I’d love to try the allergen reducer. The vacuum looks awesome too though.
Melissa says
I bet that vacuum is amazing. My Grandma had one and it lasted forever! That purifier looks so amazing too!
valmg @ Mom Knows It All says
I could use either or both of those! My current vac isn’t doing the greatest job. I hate when I empty our canister how the dirt always comes flying out and creates a cloud of dust, I bet a dirt cake would be less likely to do that. And our bathroom always has cat hair and tiny granules of cat litter that the vac just won’t pick up.
Priscilla P. says
I love the ideal of a vacuum that can self clean hair off the brush. I have a lot of hair and I shed a lot.I also hate picking hair off the brush. I need that vacuum!
Katy Rawson says
We so desperately need a new vacuum and the Electrolux UltraCaptic sounds awesome. I love that compression system, seems like the canister would hold a great deal more before needing to be emptied. So awesome.
Debra Womack says
That “dirt cake” thing is brilliant!
Rosey says
Ohh, both features you mentioned for the vacuums are rocking awesome. I don’t know if I’d want the one that compresses the dirt (how cool is that??) or the one that cuts the strings, because BOTH features are endearing. You’ve got me considering an actual look at the Electrolux brand. Our third vacuum in just as many years is on it’s way out (we’re hard on vacuum cleaners, I guess). Happy to have come across the info. A dirt cake, ha! I do love this post. 🙂

Growing up, my mom ONLY used Electrolux vacuum cleaners. I think they are a tried and true brand that is very reliable. I’m in need of a new vacuum and I will definitely check into what Electrolux has to offer.
Debbie L. says
Nice vac – I will have to check them out. I know the name is a name you can trust.
Rachael says
Wow, looks like a great vacuum. I’ll have to keep it in mind when I’m ready to replace mine.
Dina says
This looks like a great vacuum. I’m currently trying to decide what to do next, buy new or wait. I’ll check this out before I make the final decision.
Melinda says
my mother swears by her Electrolux. I can’t see spending that much money on a vacuum. I’ve never seen a HUGE difference in cleaning power between different brands
kim says
After having 4 dogs we REALLY need a new vacuum cleaner. Between the pet hair and crumbs on the floor from my kid, our vacuum is on its last leg. I will definitely keep this one is mind when we do decide to get a new one – they are not cheap so we want to make a decision we can live with.
Alesha @ Full Time Mama says
Wow, I could really use that ‘cut away’ feature- between myself and my daughter I’m constantly dealing with hair stuck in the brush! I had no idea Electrolux made vacuums- I’ve only seen their washer/dryers!
