I received free products, including a celebration kit, to host this Disney Side @Home party from Disney Parks and MomSelect.
First, I want to talk about what my real Disney Side is. It is memories. It is talking about old memories of my Disney Parks experiences, and the plans to return to Disney to make new memories.
I generally accomplish my Disney Side by talking with friends like the ones that attended my Disney Side party. I invited friends that not only had attended a Disney Park recently, but whom we had also shared many conversations with about our experiences. Whenever we would chat “Disney” before school, in the playground, etc., talk would turn to what we each did, how we liked where we stayed, and what our favorite rides were! As an aside, do you ever notice how your favorite ride changes with time and how often you talk about it!
Our family fell in love with Disney as attendees at our first social media conference. And then another. I tried to explain to my son that Disney will not always be about private parties in Dino Land, etc. Thankfully he gets it! Last summer we ended up on a 10 day trip to Walt Disney World completely funded by ourselves. I knew if I went back on my own I would need a large chunk of time to just drink in all that WDW had to offer, and surprise, surprise, we only wanted more after we were done!
Lastly, before we hit the party scene, I want to talk about my spouse. My spouse and I agreed that we would never go on a cruise. Then we were forced on one by my parents to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Our son was 2 1/2 and after seeing the look on his face watching Mickey Mouse aboard ship, as we sailed away from Florida, we knew our lives had changed. It wasn’t about us anymore, it was about what brought him joy. Fast forward to a few months ago, the man who told me that WDW was a fake world, after having enjoyed several family trips there, now said it was the only place he felt relaxed! That was why we had a February vacation planned during President’s Week, a time we would never travel, because we needed more Disney! Unfortunately snow caused us to into go on the trip but we now have a Disneyland adventure coming up and a Walt Disney World return booked for August!
We were thrilled to be picked to have a Disney Side party to continue chatting about our love of all things Mouse. But first things first, you always have to take care of your guests:
I love a good goody bag, I love my swag, and I like to treat my guests the way I like to be treated! So above is part of my smorgasbord of goodies that I was able to share with my friends! HP very generously provided many packs of photo paper for the guests!
The hottest activity of the evening was making your own Disney t-shirt.
We thank Hanes for providing the blank canvasses that all our guests got to make their own Disney drawing on. Everyone loved their own creation and one friend called after the party to say her son decided to wear his shirt to school on Monday. Instead of his uniform! Below is our classmates little sister, she could not stop leaving Hidden Mickeys all over the house (my son seems to see Hidden Mickeys all over New York City! You know we bought that book!).
I now have to thank my blog wife for this one:
Yes, I need better lighting in the apartment! Linda made chicken legs for everyone to help us remember our favorite street food from the Disney Parks, jumbo turkey legs! She’s brilliant, isn’t she? And, I posted this on Facebook only to find out that one of my cousins used to work the turkey leg stand in Epcot years ago! That’s what keeps the Disney Side going!
There were also great Mickey cupcakes courtesy of Linda, you can spot one at the very bottom of this post. My son then chipped in and asked if he could find a Mickey cartoon for everyone to enjoy:
I am grateful to have been chosen to host this Disney Side party. Everyone had a blast, everyone talked about their own wonderful Disney memories, and some of us started planning the next trip!
Disclosure: I received some beautiful American Tourister luggage with free products in order to host my Disney Side @Home celebration, thanks to Disney Parks and MomSelect. Â No other compensation was received. All opinions are always 100% honest and my own.

You sure know how to throw a party apparently – and to think I am only a 3.5 hour drive from NYC, so maybe I will come crash your next one 😉
Thinking along the lines of Robin above, a good giveaway might be a ticket to attend one of your soirees 🙂 We are taking our granddaughter on a trip to celebrate her 10th birthday next year & every other day she wants to go to Walt Disney World (the other days it’s NYC & Washington DC.)
I wish I was at your Disney Party! I love Mickey and DisneyWorld so much and I can’t wait to go back!
What a fun party! It’s sad, but I’ve never been to a Disney park. Hoping to take my son in a few years, when he’s old enough to remember the park and form ideas about his favorite characters and rides!
That looks like so much fun! I wish I were there! I just love Disney.
You all certainly has a blast showing off your Disney Side fun!

That looks like such a fun party. I love WDW, much more than I ever thought I would.
We used to live in Florida and went to Disney many, many times (great resident deals to be had, for sure). Now that we live out of state, we’ve only been once in the last five years. We are WAY overdue to go. I’d like to go to Disneyland too…that would mark two things off of the list of things I’d like to do (California and Disneyland).
My husband and I felt like you and yours, with the whole cruise concept. I’ve relented and would love to take a Disney cruise. He’s not there yet. 😉
I love Disney! While I haven’t been in any Disney Park, I am sure that it is a great place to be in whatever your age is. I love Disney movies as well because these movies are wholesome and perfect for family viewing. I learned many valuable lessons from Disney movies. 🙂
Looks like so much fun! I haven’t been to Disney in so long. We’re waiting until our boys are just a bit older. I’ve heard some much about Disney social media events lately. I really, really want to attend one.
Great job showing your Disney Side! Looks like everyone had a great time! I live in Orlando and worked for Disney, so I feel like I live a Disney side. LOL
It seems as if you had a great Disney celebration. I don’t think I know anyone who does not like at least one Disney character.
Your party turned out fabulously! I really love your hats, and the tee shirts everyone got to make! I’m sure it’s a party your guests are going to remember for quite some time!
I love a good goody bag too. It looks like your guests totally scored!!! What a fun party you had!
Looks like you guys had a fantastic time!!! I love the cupcakes. I bet making those shirts was really cool too!
It looks like your party was so much fun! I love the red mickey balloons!!
Your party looks really fun! I can’t believe that you didn’t want to go on a cruise and had to be forced! I want to go on a cruise so bad I can taste it, lol. 😀
Can you adopt me 🙂 You look like you had a blast. I love that everyone made shirts, what a fun activity and the kids looked like they were having a blast!
What a fun party!! I love any party that involves Mickey Mouse!
Everyone looked delighted to be making their t-shirts and Disney’n it up! What a super way to show your Disney side.
I love this! What fun. These Disney Side Parties are making me want to have one. I know my kids would enjoy a party to get rid of some cabin fever here in NH.
How fun is this? I would have loved to have had something like this as a kid. The closest thing I ever had was a Beauty and the Beat birthday when I was 7, haha.
I love, love, love the balloons! Thanks for showing that you can have a great time, even in a small space.
What a fun Disney Side party! I love goofy ears, I’ve only ever seen Mickey/Minnie.
I’m a huge Disney geek! we just took our kids to Disney world for the first time this past fall. We had a blast.
Great job with the party! We live in Florida, but we don’t get to experience Disney as often as we should!
It looks like you had a fun Disneyside party! Just the thought of Disney makes me smile.
Wow– your Disney Side party looks like it was a BLAST and successful! We just recently came back from Disney– always makes you feel like a kid again!
Disney vacations are the best! We visited WDW this summer (my kid’s first time) and are doing a Disney cruise this summer. The Disney Side party looks like a great way to remember your Disney vacations. You’ve made me excited for my upcoming trips again!
Looks like everyone had a blast, and the swag was AWESOME!!! Thanks for showing your #disnesyside
Looks like a fun party! I love all the mouse hats 🙂
