By downloading the #ItsOurTime app, people all over the U.S can show their support by recording themselves shouting the iconic “USA!” chant and help drive Team USA to gold in Sochi. The chants will be shared with the Team USA athletes prior to their competition to serve as an additional encouragement before they compete!”

I was thrilled to be asked to work on this campaign as I have been a huge fan of the Olympics forever. So much so that Mark Spitz inspired me to become a swimmer after the 1976 Olympics (he won 7 Gold Medals in swimming that year). I was never the best, but I swam 2 years in High School and 1 year in College. My son has strict instructions to bury me with my Ramapo Senior High School Swim jacket with Varsity letter. I never worked so hard in my life, I still feel very strongly about how much I wanted and then earned that sports accolade!

I am sure I never worked as hard as these Olympians, but as a chubby, nonathletic teen, I worked hard. I was inspired by the Olympics, and it has had a lasting effect on my life. I will be forever grateful that I forced myself to make an effort. As a blogger I was honored to write a post about my past inspiration, with pics of all the Olympians I have met, you can see that post here! I know from having talked to these Olympians that cheering them on does have an affect, it does help to inspire them, so lets do it!
