In general I enjoy doing product reviews. As a SAHD (stay at home dad) I am the main consumer in the house, and I take care of everything here, cooking, cleaning, etc. So even if I have the help of a cleaning lady every other week, I am the one who has to buy the supplies for the house, and of course the vacuum.
I have been known to vacuum myself on occasion as all my Facebook friends know, and sometimes frantically, before my mother-in-law is about to inspect, I mean visit us! Five years ago I upgraded our vacuum and bought a Dyson. It works much better than other vacuums I have owned and meant I could easily pass mom’s white glove test! So, when I was offered the opportunity to review this Dyson hand held vacuum, I was thrilled! I spent the extra money years ago to get what I was told was the best vacuum on the market. And I was not just told this on TV, I was also told this by my friend Ann; advertising is one thing but hearing from an actual user that you know is more reassuring. And she was 100% right, it is the best vacuum I have ever owned.
And for 5 years I have loved my full sized upright Dyson! I want a machine that works the first time. The super suction power of my Dyson enables me to go over my floors one time and know that is enough to pick up all dust and dirt particles. So I am absolutely biased in my review of this hand held, I was thrilled when I was approved for this review as I am a huge fan of Dyson’s products and had no doubt it would work as wonderfully as they told me, that is the company’s reputation in the marketplace, and seen in my own home for the last 5 years.
And they were right. I first tried the Dyson DC59 at an event last week. They actually had the handheld vacuum from another company that I have been using in my home, one I had received for review last year, to compare it with. It worked well enough, but it didn’t seem to have even half the pick-up and suction that the Dyson had, as we vacuumed up some powder from the demo floor. I was thrilled to see how well the Dyson DC59 worked vs. a competitor, it really showed the difference in power!
Top 5 reason I love this vacuum:
1. The DC 59 has 3 times the suction of any other cordless vacuum in use. I saw it in action and was blown away by its power. What is the point of having a weaker vacuum?
2. This new vacuum promises a 26 minute clean time. That is as much time as you will ever see me clean my apartment!
3. New V6 motor = 50% more power than V2; performs like an upright. This is the newest and strongest handheld!
4. 2 Tier Radial Cyclone technology brought to cordless for the first time. But I will not be sharing this with the cleaning lady, this vacuum is mine, she has use of the full size upright Dyson only!
5. Re-engineered brush bar for hard floor and carpet cleaning. I love this, as you can see below, it is designed better than other vacuum brush bars on the market. And, the whole device weighs 4.65 pounds! Light as a feather!
I am thrilled with the DC59 because the full size upright Dyson I use for the cleaning of my entire house is big and sits in the closet. It is not that the vacuum is cumbersome, it is that I am lazy. My son does art work in the living room almost daily. He never seems to be able to clean up the little pieces of paper that I later find all over the rugs. It is not food garbage that might bring little unwelcome visitors, so I do not rush to clean this up. Now that I have something as powerful as the DC59, and so simple to access and use, we can spend a few minutes at night and clean the rug in no time! And, the first thing I noticed as you can see below, the control portion of the vacuum looks like a gun. All I had to do was mention that to my son and he was on the job immediately! (The below picture is not him, it is from the manufacturer!)
This is also the perfect device to clean your car!

I have 2 Dysons in the house and I love them both. I have the upright and the canister. I’d love to try the cordless.

I’ve wanted a Dyson for as long as I can remember. I ask for one every year for Christmas, but I don’t think my husband believes that it’s actually what I want. IT IS 🙂

This looks SO convenient. I need this in my life. Forget the house, my care is in dire need of a good cleaning. The vacuum I currently have is horrible. I feel like it doesn’t even pick anything up anymore. It just spits the dirt back out in a new place!

Like all Dysons this looks like a winner. I love that it is so easy to move around with it. I nearly broke my neck trying to vacuum clean the stairs couple weeks ago (haven’t attempted it since) 🙂

Id love to own a Dyson! I’ve heard such great things about the regular full sized vacuums but I love the features of this small one, too. It would be really cool to use it to clean my car instead of having to drive to a car wash and pay to use theirs.
