If you follow my blog you know that I went on a press trip for this movie earlier this year. My entire family loved it. It was clear this would be another blockbuster in the franchise.

Gru has a great sense of humor which is only eclipsed by his love for his 3 adopted daughters. He is a great and caring dad, going to great lengths to keep them happy as you will see from the beginning of the move. A love interest is introduced in this movie for Gru, and it happens organically! Agent Lucy Wilde is paired with Gru on a special mission as he is recalled from retirement. It takes a reformed evil villain to catch an evil villain. Agent Wilde is voiced by Kristen Wiig, one of my favorite comediennes! She is a wonderful comedic actress, and her personality is all over her character! She is a natural as Gru’s blossoming love interest!

They hunt for the criminal, they catch the criminal, you know the story. It is a hilarious trip made even more funny by America’s sweethearts, the Minions!

The Minions are hysterical, and each with their own distinct personality. One of my favorite, funniest parts of the movie is when the Minions sing in their Minion language! From YMCA to a French love song, these guys make me laugh till I cry, I mean actual tears stream down my face from laughing so hard! My son is a fan as well, here he is with Minion Stuart!

And, spoiler alert, although it is no secret, the Minions are getting their own feature film in 2015!

And as I always share, the best part of buying the DVD, even when the movie is so good you know you are going to view it over and over again, is the extra bits. In this combo pack there are 3 new mini movies, a deleted scene, and several other “extras.” This is a must have movie for your collection, I am thrilled that I had the chance to get a review copy!
