In the new ‘Thor: Treasures of Asgard’ experience, open now, Disneyland park guests are magically transported to the home world of Thor, the Mighty Avenger—star of the big-screen epic adventure Thor: The Dark World, in theaters since November 8!
Thor: Treasures of Asgard, is located in Innoventions in Tomorrowland, it presents an epic collection of objects brought to Earth straight from Thor’s home world of Asgard.
Above you see Loki’s helmet, shackles, and dagger. This incredible visit was like a trip to an Asgardian museum, with all the best pieces of their culture!
This is Heimdall’s helmet. Heimdall is the all-seeing, all-knowing gate keeper of Asgard who keeps watch over the Bifrost, the means of traveling between worlds along the metaphysical branches of Yggdrasil, the World Tree that unites the Nine Realms. He is also supposed to prevent intruders form crossing the Rainbow Bridge that connects his observatory with the Kingdom of Asgard. Following the attack of the Dark Elves, Heimdall donned a new suit of armor, leaving this one for us to view. It was quite impressive, as is he!
I have also included a picture of an Asgardian Skiff Toy, it is not just all war, all the time in Asgard!
You’ll also be able to travel across the Bifrost, a cosmic bridge transporting you to Asgard for an audience with Thor himself! I as shocked, I thought we were going into a private Agardian movie showing, I had no idea we were actually crossing over into Thor’s home! Here he is, welcoming us:
Additionally, he Disneyland Resort just gets merrier, starting Nov. 12, 2013, with all their traditional Holiday favorites plus these new additions:
— “World of Color – Winter Dreams” premieres Nov. 15. This is an all-new, holidays version of the very popular “World of Color” nighttime, water spectacular at Disney California Adventure Park.
— “Disney ¡Viva Navidad!” – This new celebration, inspired by Latino culture and celebrations, features music, food, dancing and an exciting Street Party multiple times a day. It begins Nov. 15 at Disney California Adventure. This precedes our Jan. 3-6 Dia De Los Reyes celebration for Three Kings Day.
— Jingle Cruise – The Jungle Cruise skippers decorate for the Holidays and add some fun new jokes to their riverboat tour, at Disneyland Park.
This was my first trip to Disneyland after visiting Walt Disney World 4 times. It was definitely weird to go without my son. The most difficult part was right in the beginning, because the first ride we went on was the Indiana Jones ride. That is one of my son’s favorite movie series, and he would absolutely love that ride. Which means we are currently planning our visit to Disneyland, California right now!
We also went on the Haunted Mansion ride which was far different then the Walt Disney World experience I had 3 months earlier:
“Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas inspires the great transformation from haunted house to Halloween Town, brimming with jack-o-lanterns and wreaths, sinister toys and kooky characters from the hit animated film. Don’t miss the ginger-dread houses and blood-curdling pies as the Oogie Boogie Man and others scare up some extra festive fun. Season’s Screamings, everyone!”
Lastly, there is an indoor restaurant attached to the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. It reminded me of the restaurant next to the volcano in the Mexico Pavilion in Epcot. Both are must do places to eat!
For more information please visit the Disneyland website!
Disclosure: Disney invited me on a press trip and paid all of my expenses. No other compensation was received. All opinions are always 100% my own and honest. The third picture above is courtesy of Disney.
And of course there is a celeb pic!

What an amazing pictorial you have given those of us who did not go. This looks awesome and truly like a museum. It is hard traveling to places like this and leaving a child at home so I feel your pain. Thanks for sharing and I wonder if they plan to do something like this for Disney World here in Florida. You look great with the hammer. So glad Thor is passing it to someone who is so trust worthy to accept the challenge.
