The Crisco Pie Hotline has returned for its eighth year just in time for fall baking! If you’re not familiar with the hotline, it’s a fantastic resource for bakers and provides round the clock assistance for anyone in a pie predicament.
Live pie experts can be reached Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. ET by calling 1-877-FOR-PIE-TIPS (877-367-7438). What’s even better is that during the busy holiday season when pie baking is at its peak, live pie experts are on-call during extended hours, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET from November 18 – 27, and 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. ET from December 16 – 23.
The Crisco test kitchens have also come up with a few tasty new recipes for this season I wanted to share with you (available at www.Crisco.com):
- Caramel Apple Walnut Pie – Leftover apples from the annual trip to the orchard? Update the traditional apple pie recipe with a new twist that incorporates the delicious flavors of fall.
- Classic Chicken Pot Pie – Nothing says comfort like chicken pot pie, and the addition of the Classic Crisco Pie Crust to this recipe truly makes it a supper superstar.
- Mini Bacon and Leek Quiche – Warm and savory, these tiny tarts are perfect appetizers for fall gatherings and holiday guests.
- Savory Pumpkin Parmesan Empanadas – Flavors of thyme, pumpkin and ricotta cheese blend together in this holiday twist on savory hand pies.

We love chicken pot pie in this house so that is the first recipe I am going to try. And for the record, my mom uses Crisco in her chocolate frosting, it may be high in calories but it is delicious and brings back a lot of fun baking memories!
Disclosure: I recently attended an all-expenses paid meeting at The J. M. Smucker Company. That is when I had the opportunity to work with Crisco products as Crisco falls under the J. M. Smucker Company umbrella of brands! All opinions are 100% honest and my own.
