In anticipation of this new type of movie event, I interviewed Ariel at her home, under the sea. We had a wonderful chat about her friends, Flounder and Scuttle. She seemed to think I had seen them earlier, but alas I was only able to conduct the 1 interview.
This new interactive experience with the Little Mermaid was a wonderful opportunity for me to see the movie in it entirety, I had only ever before seen snippets. I have recently returned from Walt Disney World where I was inundated with pieces of the Little Mermaid and that was not enough! I had to know the whole story after seeing her in Mickey’s Philharmagic, watching her in the live show at WDW’s Hollywood Studios, and enjoying her ride in New Fantasyland I wanted more!
I laughed, I cried, and I saw pieces of my grandmother in Ursula! Except for the tentacles they looked remarkably similar!
The most important item I can mention here for the interactive experience is to make sure you download the Little Mermaid Second Screen app on your iPad before you leave the house. It is a large file, you will see why when you hit the theater. I myself chose to watch how my fellow theater goers were enjoying the interactive nature of this new feature. Here’s the free download info, go to iTunes for the “Second Screen Live: The Little Mermaid App” and download it to an Apple iPad or iPad mini and bring your Mermaid-loaded devices to participating theaters. Fans and families can interact with the film, play games, find hidden treasure, sing along, and compete with the audience for the chance to win great prizes!
It was wonderful and heartwarming to have the various characters talk to us in the theater and have us play games, scream out cheers, and basically participate throughout different parts of the movie. What a great addition to the movie going experience, I had never seen anything like this before.

Disclosure: I was invited to a screening of this movie. All opinions are 100% honest and my own
This is so neat! I’m glad it was fun!
I love love love Ariel–she is my favorite Disney Princess of all time!! I can’t wait for the two screen experience. I love watching the Walking Dead with two screens–that was a blast to know some info before others LOL–can’t wait to see what its all about!!

Looks like such a Fun Event! You and Ariel looked like you hit it off! 😉
I am jealous! I always wanted to see this!
SO mad I missed it. I had an Open House for one school on Tuesday and another one on Wednesday so I would have been exhausted but my girls would have loved it!
I missed it too but am glad you went. I’ve been itching to watch this again.
My daughter just had an Ariel themed 5th Birthday party! She’s big into The Little Mermaid so I’m going to have to get the DVD for her for Christmas!
We had a blast at the second screening in NJ! Both of my kids loved the interactions within the game and the movie (of course).

Wow that is awesome. My little niece just asked me the other day for Mermaid toy. I think I may go ahead and get her The little Mermaid video. Glad you got to interview Ariel and had a great time.
