“Nearly a century ago, regulars in a New York City deli discovered a new condiment that made their club sandwiches even more delicious – just one bite and they were hooked. The secret ingredient was deli owner, Richard Hellmann’s, family recipe for mayonnaise, which would grow to be one of America’s most enduring and iconic food brands – Hellmann’s Mayonnaise.” And don’t forget, west of the Rockie Mountains, instead of Hellmann’s it is Best Foods, the same brand!
Tuesday, September 24, 2013, was the celebration for Hellmann’s 100th Birthday and I was honored to be there and part of Hellmann’s building the longest picnic table, with the Guinness Book or World Records on hand to confirm that new record! There were 500 guests, all of whom were fed a picnic basket of deliciously cooked items which contained Hellmann’s delicious mayonnaise! I was number 432!
Famous NY Chef, Mario Batali was our master of Ceremonies along with my old Hellmann’s video co-star, Chef Tim Love, Bravo’s Andy Cohen, and other notables.
“As Hellmann’s celebrates its rich history of feeding America’s families during some of their greatest moments, it also is marking the occasion with support for those most in need. As part of the brand’s 100 birthday celebration, Hellmann’s is helping provide one million meals to Feeding America this year to help the fight against hunger nationwide.” Hellmann’s will be donating $125,000 to fund 1 million meals to help fight hunger. To be part of this was also pretty thrilling, and it was pretty awesome to have Katie Homes sitting at the picnic table with me for this charitable cause.
As always, for more information check out Hellmann’s website! And follow them on Facebook and Twitter!
Disclosure: This post was created in connection with my appointment as an Ambassador in Hellmann’s Real Foodies Program. All opinions are 100% honest and my own.
I was thrilled to wish Hellmann’s a Happy Birthday with my new friend, Bravo’s Andy Cohen!

DAMN! I missed meeting Bravo Andy. I was supposed to go to this but I was too lazy to make the trip. Glad you were able to go so that I could live vicariously through you 🙂

That looks like so much fun! It’s called “Best Foods” on our side of the Mississippi but it’s still my favorite mayo.
