I am a huge fan of the Zombie movie genre. Huge. My favorite of the bunch is Resident Evil, except that the last one was majorly disappointing. Overall though, Ihave enjoed the series.
George Romero of course is the king of the Zombie movies, and he also has started to get a little boring in his old age.
And I have even seen the foreign language, semi-comedic, Spanish Zombie movies. Just to see how they tackle the issue. I like to be well informed, as you know from following me on Facebook, I have a house full of supplies so that my family can survive the coming Zombie Apocalypse!
Seeing a Zombie movie in the theater was a first for me, I usually wait for them to come to HBO or one of those related channels. I opted for the 2D because it was 1/2 price before noon, and because I had to test the waters before I committed to Zombies coming at me in 3D. I made the right choice.
If you have seen the trailers, you will see the handsome Brad Pitt in the kitchen with his family. A tiny bit of foreshadowing with the news on in the background, but nothing major. And then they head out in the car and BAM! The action starts.
The movie was quite terrifying at parts. And it should be. I thought the writing was terrific, the book as is would not have translated that well into a movie (I did love the book), so they needed to change the material to fit the big screen. I thought they succeeded wonderfully.
The movie was great, it elevated the Zombie genre to the next level in my humble opinion. And the acting was terrific, not just Brad Pitt, but the Zombies! Some awesome Zombie acting, you’ll see!
I highly recommend this movie, but not for kids under 15. My son would not have lasted beyond the first 15 minutes, I almost had to leave, I thought I was going to have a heart attack. That is the sign of a good horror story!

I saw it last weekend and loved it. I cant Wait to see the next two movies to see what happens and I just downloaded the book for the kindle. This movie did make me glad to live in small town Iowa though, because unless you city folks personally know Brad Pitt when the zombies come, you’re all screwed, LOL. =0)

Definitely a movie on my list to see but it might be too much for me on the big screen! I like enjoying my horror in the safety of my own home.
