We reversed things this trip. We usually have a few hours on the last day of our Walt Disney World trips and we spend it in Epcot. This trip we spent that last day in Hollywood Studios, and spent a full day in Epcot the day before. I keep thinking there is not a lot to do in Epcot. Yeah, I’m nuts, and thankfully we were there during the Flower Show!
First rule, race to Soarin and get your Fast Pass tickets.
Then on to meet John and his partner. They were waiting for us at Test Track. I did a review of Test Track when it opened in December but never went on it. I was honest in the review and never did say I went on it! And just like Splash Mountain my friend told me I could ride Test Track it would not be too bad. It’s my spouse who seems to scare me off rides! And I scare easy. Needless to say I finally rode on Test track and loved it! As long as I dont have to do that again! Is my son laughing at his 2 dads?
These Disney folks really know where to set up those darn cameras!
We rode The Sea with Nemo & Friends again. I could ride that every time and spend hours in that center with the aquarium. And this time we found the Turtle Talk show, we had never seen that before. Of course my son loved it (OK, so did I!).
By this time we were able to get into Soarin. Soarin is my “face my fear of heights” ride. When we first went 2 trips ago I wanted to run away screaming but could not as I had to keep a brave face for my son. They raise you almost 45 feet in the air! But I did it and make it my priority to ride it again every time we are in Disney. For my son and I, Disney is not only about having a fun time, it is also about facing our various fears. It is doubly magical for us!
We also found the Ellen DeGeneres narrated Universe of Energy ride/show. For the umpteenth time my spouse remarked that he has no idea where Disney is hiding the massive space that these rides must be taking up. It seemed like we went through a tremendous dinosaur range, but the building just does not look big enough to house all that area! The marvels of Disney! I will note that I loved the ride but the segway into the subject of energy did not seem to flow well.
And then on to the World Showcase. My only hope is one day we can have a meal at some place other than China. Not that we don’t enjoy it, I would just like to try some other places!
And the before you know it , fireworks. I do not know where the time flew. We were in Epcot almost 12 hours and we did not get to make it all the way around the countries! I must go back!
Next….
Our last few hours in Disney were spent at Hollywood Studios, and just like I run to get the Fast Pass at Soarin, I run to get the Fast Pass for Toy Story mania, my #1 attraction. My bucket list still contains going on that thing 5x in a row!
We had spent a few evening hours here 3 days earlier and saw a 10:30 pm showing of Fantasmic. That show is amazing! We did our prerequisite Star Tours ride at that time, so this last day all we got to add was the Indiana Jones Stunt Show. Wow, we had no idea it would have changed form our last visit in December! We loved watching that boulder run down the hill after Indie!
And then as fast as it started, our trip was ended. Now I warn you I am going to get corny. It’s not that we don’t have little tiffs and arguments when we are at Walt Disney World on vacation, but we are indeed all affected by the magic around us. And for the sake of full disclosure, as of this writing I have not been to any other theme parks similar to WDW that I can compare. The stresses of home and work are not with us, and we all 3 are having such a wonderfully fun time, I love looking at my spouse and seeing him smile, he too often forgets to do that at home. I look forward to our next adventure at Disney, I know I will never outgrow this experience, and I hope that my son never does either!
Disclosure: I attended this event as a guest of Walt Disney World. I paid a conference fee and received free park tickets, some lodging and some meals. All opinions are always 100% honest and my own. I was not required to write this post as part of my conference attendance.

It has been years since I was in Orlando. I definitely agree that there’s nothing quite like the Disney parks. And, I LOVE Epcot.
