This last Office Depot sponsored post is about how we created REAL Change in my son’s classroom!
As part of my 3 part series sponsored by Office Depot, they donated supplies to my son’s class. They arrived while I was on vacation and it really was perfect timing as my son”s classroom had just sustained some rain damage due to the last huge rain storm we had. And the greatest gift of all was this amazing carry case that my son’s teacher, pictured above, can use to easily bring supplies and files from place to place!
My son’s teacher was thrilled to receive extra supplies for his classroom. Even though it is almost the end of the school year, he is already thinking ahead to next year. He was extra happy about the dry erase markers so I think I am going to check out my home supply and bring some more in. My coupon shopping may come in handy yet! Every extra supply he gets is that much less he has to spend out of his own pocket to help his students. My next step will be to fund raise for pizza gift cards to help him fund his homework reward system!
Office Depot is a retailer that gets school- they care about teachers and their challenges and understand what they need to thrive. They are a wonderful destination for school essentials, something I never realized before. Office Depot is committed to teachers, recognizes their contributions and want to help them succeed through programs and partnerships like Adopt a Classroom and the company’s Star Teacher program.
Please everyone, register with Office Depot’s charity partner, AdoptaClassroom.org to participate in the REAL Change Project and be eligible for funding from donors nationwide. Tell everyone, the other parents in your school, friends, relatives, grandparents, community leaders, spread the word right now: http://www.officedepot.com/a/promo/pages/toolkit/.
Let’s all make a difference.

I taught for 8 years, so I know how important supplies are in the classroom! Love the idea of adopting a classroom! AWESOME!

This does sound like a great program worth looking into. My son’s teacher sends notes home fairly often requesting supplies, I know she’d love this.

I think it’s nice of Office Depot to have this program for REAL change. So many institutions need help and schools are definitely one of them.

Coming from a family of teachers, I can only imagine how awesome it is for your little man’s teacher to receive all those goodies!! HATS OFF to Office Depot for giving back!! LOVE when big corp does that!!

That is great! I love that first photo! I bet his teacher was so touched!

I’m a teacher and our system has been requesting very little for school supplies the past five or so years. Our classroom budgets haven’t increased so I spend more and more out of pocket for things like glue sticks or paper. What a great thing for you to do for your son’s teacher!
Shash says
That’s so awesome. Each year our teachers send home a list for the families to help fill. They’re always running out of Kleenex, glue sticks and markers!! Very nice of Office Depot to do this. It’ll be something your son remembers for a very long time! 🙂

I wanted to add that we got a new office chair at Office Depot this week and I was really surprised at how many school supplies they had on clearance sale. I’m so tempted to go back and stock up, but it would just make the next school year seem closer, I think!

So many teachers take money out of their own pockets for school supplies. It’s great that Office Depot is supporting them!

It always amazes me how much teachers have to spend on supplies out of their own pocket. You are a teacher’s dream parent! Thanks for sharing!
