10 years ago today, 10 am, in Arizona, I met you for the first time, seconds after they pulled you out of your birth mother’s belly. (The full adoption story is here.)
My first feeling was that of recognition, like we were back together again. After that I remember only crying and going out to the waiting room to tell your other new dad that you were here. Oh yeah, and i got to cut your umbilical cord!
You were and still are my dream come true: you made me a dad. I still can’t believe that God gave me the perfect child.
I love you son.

Adoption is a big <3 of mine, especially seeing a family completed by the addition of a little someone to fill the hearts of his/her parents. Happy birthday to your not-so-little munchkin – may the next 10 years be as blissful and exciting as the first 10!
