I am being compensated by The Clorox® Company to share a new language about messes for the Clorox® Ick-tionary. I was thrilled when they first contacted me as we have a house full of Clorox products, that is how I was indoctrinated by my mother-in-law. For years she would listen to my father-in-law and I talk about the stock market. Every time she heard us she would interject and would say, buy Clorox, everyone needs and uses bleach. Of course we should have listened!
My spouse assisted me in coming up with this new language, after all, he helps me clean the apartment so he is well aware of the various messes we have. We started this at holiday time and came up with a fairly easy one, Christmess. That’s fairly self explanatory: leftover tinsel, tree bark on the floor, and, in our house, Chanukah candle wax. Not quite Christmas, but usually the 2 holidays overlap! I hope I have given you the proper idea, I was hoping you might come up with some Clorox® Ick-tionary words of your own for the Easter/Passover holidays that passed, or what you foresee happening on Memorial Day weekend, perhaps a barbecue related mess that Clorox could help with?
Visit www.icktionary.com to learn how Clorox cleaning and laundry products can help you tackle all the icky situations in your home. You will see that you are not the only one who has some disgusting messes that might seem painful to clean up, but will realize that laughing at the words in this fun new Clorox® Ick-tionary will help relieve some of the stress associated with the massive clean-up that we sometimes have to deal with. Especially when there are kids in the house! I know my son can create dirt and messes out of thin air, almost like a magician! You can also participate and play fun games for the chance to win a $25 prize! I have been playing, it is a lot of fun and a great way to take a break from cleaning to laugh at the messes I know are all around me!
Do you think you can come up with every day words that describe these horrible messes? Here are my other words that I am adding to my personal Ick-tionary:
Teriyucky – Friday night is Chinese take out night for dinner. Teriyaki and Soy Sauce stains abound on the table cloth! Wait, did I say table cloth? I will not say whom, but one of my children tends to just throw the food in his mouth. So yes, along with the table cloth, Teriyaki sauce goes flying onto his shirt. I always have Clorox 2® Stain Fighter & Color Booster on hand (“Just add it to your wash to remove tough stains, brighten colors, and whiten whites”), truthfully not just for him, I also have a reputation for staining my shirts during meals and sometimes those around me! Uh oh, maybe that’s where my son learned to make food fly. Time to come up with an ick-tionary word for that!
HippopotaMess – The entire plate of food falls in your lap. Otherwise known as a huge mess. Also, when you drop a potted plant, all the soil goes on the white carpet (pot-a-mess). I am currently trying to grow tomatoes in my son’s room in our NY apartment. I recently had to re-pot the plants. Even with a table covered in newspaper I ended up with potting soil all over the place. It was a hippopotamus sized mess! For this I use my absolutely favorite, #1 cleaning tool, Clorox® Disinfecting Wipes. “These are the multi-surface cleaning wipes that help you easily clean up (rather than “cry over”) spilled milk, while also disinfecting your counters or floors to make sure you’re eliminating germs and bacteria.” I buy these at my local warehouse club when they are on sale. And when I say buy, I mean stock up like mad. My spouse goes through a huge canister in less than a week!
Head over to the Clorox® Ick-tionary page and add your words, play some games to try to win prizes, and as I always like to have for you, print some coupons while they last!
Disclosure: Again, I am being compensated by The Clorox® Company to share a new language about messes for the Clorox® Ick-tionary. All opinions are always 100% honest and my own.
And please remember:
• Clorox products should never be used directly on people,
• Clorox® Clean-Up® Cleaner with Bleach and Clorox® Disinfecting Wipes should only be used on hard, non-porous surfaces,
• Always check clothing labels before using Clorox® Regular-Bleach or Clorox 2® Stain Fighter & Color Booster.
I follow you on facebook and here is my clorox icktionary word: my grandson gets grass stains on his pants at the knees so my word is greenies (green knees) and Clorox 2 is wonderful. So says Patricia Tiede, thanks for this cool contest.
I love getting your great contest on my email as pat_td@yahoo.com
I think that is awesome the wipes cleaned up such a big soil mess!
