I was at the Red Carpet Premiere of this movie (as well as the after party!):
So I may be slightly biased, but I loved this movie. I did also see the NY preview with my son who loved it, so we do have a consensus!
One of the reasons to love this movie comes from this snippet from Director, Tim Burton:
“The kids in the movie are based on various real people, but they are also based on horror icons like Boris Karloff, Peter Lorre and dubbed Japanese movies that I remember seeing as a child. They relate to movies and actors, as well as real people that I remember from my childhood.” This movie spoofs so many horror movies that we all know, primarily Frankenstein, and you will recognize the various actors who are spoofed from the old horror movies, what great entertainment!
This movie is up for many awards this season, including a Golden Globe. It has already won many local “Best Animated Film” critic awards as well. And I asked for this review copy so we can see the film again and share it with our friends, we enjoyed it that much!
And, here a a few snippets for you to see for yourself!

I loved Kerli’s song from the movie, “Immortal”. I thought that it fit the mood and the feeling of the movie and its characters, perfectly.
