Jenny Craig, one of the world’s leading weight loss companies, announced last month, their continued relationship with the American Heart Association (AHA) to get Americans healthy and active, as well as efforts to celebrate its clients’ success on the program through programs and their creative campaign. Last year, Jenny Craig embraced a new relationship with the American Heart Association to support its mission to improve the cardiovascular health of all Americans by 20 percent by 2020.
In support of the American Heart Association’s healthy living initiative My Heart. My Life.™, Jenny Craig launched My Heart. My Life.™ My Jenny, which encouraged Americans to join Team Jenny at more than 300 AHA Heart Walks across the country, offered tip cards with healthy recipes, free training plans and highlighted the American Heart Associations’ free Walking Clubs, Walking Paths and other resources to help people eat healthier and stay physically active. Jenny Craig also promoted the AHA’s annual Lifestyle Change Awards at the Heart Walks, by honoring individuals who lost weight.
I participated in one of those walks over the summer. I have also been on the Jenny Craig plan. It works, but you have to have the willingness to follow a program. I did and lost over 10 pounds and have also been able to keep it off. For me, the accountability was key. I had to report in to someone every week, they weighed me and spoke to me about my eating habits of the past week. This helped me to stick to the plan.
Starting this month, Jenny Craig will continue to support the My Heart. My Life.™ healthy living initiative and expand on its participation in the Heart Walks by encouraging more Americans to participate in the American Heart Association’s National Walking Day (April 3, 2013). On this day, people are encouraged to wear sneakers to work and take at least 30 minutes out of their day to get up and walk in hopes of helping them make a healthy habit of walking several times a week to manage a healthier weight. We will be ready, afer all that is our first day back to school after Easter/Passover vacation!
I was thrilled to meet one of my favorite comedic actresses at the event, Nicole Sullivan. Do you remember her from MADtv? She is hysterical! She was also in The King of Queens, and voices Marlene from one of our fav shows, The Penguins of Madagascar. She is a busy woman and during all this work managed to give birth to 2 sons over the last few years, and retain the baby weight (I can relate, I adopted my son and have had trouble losing the weight ever since!). She shared that she has tried many diets to lose the weight which was making her feel lethargic and unattractive, especially in Hollywood. She found Jenny Craig to be the first program that helped her lose over 35 pounds, and keep it off. You go girl!
And we just saw some promos for Nicole’s new show with Jerry Trainor (our favorite guy from iCarly!), we can’t wait to see them!

Glad to see them getting so involved with the AHA!
Healthier eating is the reason I garden…what a total difference in the taste of your food when it’s straight from the plant to your plate.
