For over 25 years I have taken cold-eeze with zinc whenever I had a sore throat. I would not travel without it, just in case I got a scratchy throat while away, after all, who wants to get sick when you are on vacation?
Now, at the first sign of a sore throat, I start spraying the above cold-eeze with zinc right into the back of my throat. No one is paying me to say this, I am just telling you exactly what works for me as we are in the middle of cold season. I don’t like to be under the weather!
I no longer recall who told me about black elderberry extract, but at the first sign of any flu like symptoms, I start drinking some black elderberry extract. Mine is from the Vitamin Shoppe and called Sambucus. I get some for my son at CVS called Sambucol. Again, this homeopathic remedy works for me, I have been using if for years!
You can google all of this on the Internet. And I would like to add, even though I discovered these home remedies on my own, Dr. Oz has also corroborated that these items work. They have been working for me for years.
Disclosure: No one asked me to write this post (you can tell that because there are no link backs!), this is just how I get threw cold and flu season with my family.

Good to know!
We have used Emergen-C for several years. When the grandkids come over with sniffles or coughs my husband & I have a dose of Emergen-C. It comes in a packet that you mix with water. We have avoided any major colds.
But the Cold_eeze would be convenient to have when unable to mix up the Emergen-C.

Ugh, I wish I had known this a month ago. I haven’t been sick in over 7 years so I guess it was time. But I have been really really sick. My face swelled up so badly it looked like I had a stroke on my right side. I am on my 4th prescription, antibiotics, phenagren just to get through the day. I tried Echinacea, garlic, vitamin c and vitamin D along with Mucinex, but next time I am trying this stuff you mentioned. I have four kids so being sick just isn’t an option ever!
