My son loves building toys. It has been his top item to receive as a gift for over 4 years now. He spends hours putting together these interconnected pieces to create different scenarios, and then he tears them down and builds new things.
Combine that with the ever popular Transformers franchise and you have an automatic winner. I have already written about my son’s love of this franchise when I wrote about the video game a few weeks back, he loves the characters, he has watched the TV shows, and even some of the big screen movies.
We received the above 3 KRE-O sets for review.
The Transformers Destruction Site Devastator Set includes a Constructicon Devastator, a Construction Foreman, an Ironhide and 3 Construction Workers. There are Kreon figures that come with tools and you also receive 1 piece of something called the Dark Energon weapon. Other sets would have additional weapon pieces. I am glad that thing couldn’t really work, it sounds serious!
You can build 1 giant robot, 4 different vehicles or 4 different robots: this works well for my son , as I said earlier, he likes to build and then rebuild something different each time. This set includes instructions for building many different items with the same set of building materials! And, this is more challenging than other brands where everything comes in numbered bags, because the same pieces can be part of 3 different genres, you have to think more and work harder. Many children are experts and need this heightened challenge.
The Decepticon Ambush set and the Cycle Chase Set both have a figure that converts from vehicle mode to robot mode, and also uses batteries so there are lights and noises to turn this into a realistic Transformers battle.
Happy Chanukah son!
