“The latest trend in boutique bowling is rolling into Downtown Disney with the December 2012 opening of Splitsville Luxury Lanes. The upscale, retro-style bowling venue will be the largest in the bowling brand’s fleet and joins other fun, family-friendly entertainment options at Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World Resort.
Splitsville at Downtown Disney is the bowling brand’s only two-level location with 30 lanes and more than 50,000 square feet of entertainment space – twice the size of any other Splitsville – featuring billiards, live entertainment, a balcony bar with sweeping views and upscale dining options that cater to the entire family. This is not your father’s bowling alley.”
Well, lets test it out!
My spouse and son did some bowling as I had a round of interviews to attend. I also needed some time to sample all the food at all the stations set up around Splitsville! Gourmet pizzas, sushi, hamburgers, the had every thing.
My favorite amenity of this new attraction is that you will be treated to your own lane concierge! They will be the ones to bring you your bowling shoes, your bowling balls, and anything else you might need in a bowling alley!
One of the interview round tables I attended had an opportunity to talk with Ken Potrock, Senior VP, Disney Sports Enterprises, and Keith Bradford, VP Downtown Disney. They explained the pricing to us, the decision to make the 30 lanes non consecutive so you can have different groups of people in cozier surroundings, and the ability to buy bowling for a certain amounts of time instead of for a certain amount of games. There will also be evening bowling for the over 21 crowd to give that age group a fun hangout when they are on vacation.
And I got to see my favorite bowler in action!
Disclosure: As part of my Disney press junket I was invited to preview Splitsville! All opinions are 100% honest and my own!

We just returned on Monday and boy was my son 17 depressed that Splitsville was not opening until the 18th. He made the bowling team for Senior Year and since we took him out of school he wanted to do something “school” related. So glad you liked it. It will be on our list for next visit.
