Harry Potter fans can purchase tickets beginning today for the chance to step inside the famous wizard’s magical world with Harry Potter: The Exhibition, returning to Discovery Times Square on November 3. Since its hugely successful run in New York City in 2011, Harry Potter: The Exhibition has been updated significantly with artifacts from the film series, including the final film.
Back by popular demand, this stop in New York City will serve as the exhibition’s return to North America after a yearlong international tour. Tickets are available for $19.50 (child 5-12), $25 (adult) and $22.50 (senior 65 and over) and can be purchased starting today online at DiscoveryTS.com, at the Discovery Times Square box office (226 West 44th Street) or by calling (866) 987-9692.
We went on election day as it was a no school day. It is my son’s second visit. This time I made sure we went through more slowly, last year it felt like a race to the gift shop, after all he couldn’t be one of the only fellows in his circle without a magic wand!
We had to first check out the sorting hat to find out my son’s dormitory:
We are huge fans of the franchise even though the movies are over. The last installment recently hit the cable channels so it is still very much alive for us and this exhibit only adds to the fun!
“In addition to the hundreds of original props and costumes from the Harry Potter films displayed during the exhibition’s first time in New York, which the New York Times described as “quite bewitching,” and “making J.K. Rowling’s universe palpably vivid,” original artifacts from the series finale, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows™ – Part 2, will be on display for the first time, including a new vignette dedicated to the epic battle of Hogwarts™. Visitors can also celebrate the holidays at Harry Potter: The Exhibition, as the exhibition will be open during the Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year holidays.”
My son immediately noticed the new items vs. our trip last year. He was talking to my friend and I like he was an encyclopedia of all things Harry Potter, similar to most kids his age I am sure!
“The 14,000-square-foot experiential exhibition, invites visitors to visit dramatic displays inspired by the Hogwarts film sets and see the amazing craftsmanship behind authentic costumes and props from the films. Harry Potter: The Exhibition offers fans a firsthand view of hundreds of artifacts displayed in settings inspired by the film sets including the Great Hall, Hagrid’s hut, the Gryffindor™ common room, and more.”
Hagrid’s chair is quite large!
See the actual outfits from the movies, and stop and pick up a Mandrake, they really do cry out!
For visitors to NY and living in NY, this is a must see exhibit, the kids will love it!
Disclosure: We received free admission to review this exhibit. We had been before and were predisposed to loving it a second time! All opinions are 100% honest and out own.

How fun! I love Harry Potter. I’d go there just for myself, forget the kid!
