Blogging in a Hurricane Thanks to NetZero’s 4G Personal Hotspot!

My home had no electricity, no water, and no cell service. Eventually we got the water back so toilets could be flushed, we were able to walk uptown in Manhattan to get hot food and cell service, and then we heaed to Brooklyn for electricity. The in-laws apartment had not lost their electric so we have moved in with them for the duration!

But they have no wifi! My father-in-law goes to my sister-in-law’s apartment in the next building to monitor his stocks by using her wifi. My spouse needs to do his lawyering and I need to do my blogging and other social media updates every 10 seconds, so what should we do?

As luck would have it, I had seen an opportunity to work with NetZero on a long term review of their personal HotSpot, and jumped on it. I didn’t think I really needed it but thought I could save a little money on the 4G service I pay for with my iPad.

The device came late last week. Thank goodness! I charged it on Monday, along with everything else in our home, before the lights went out at 9 pm. There was no 4G service in the neighborhood so it was not useful at that time.

Well, now we are at the in-laws in Brooklyn. I am blogging right now only because I have this device. My Wall Street lawyer spouse is working on his work lapotop because we have this device. My son downloaded some new games thanks to this personal hotspot. My 2 cell phones and iPad have this as their go to wireless hook up.

I will be doing more extensive reviews at a later date. I still need to research price, area range, etc. But for now, I just thought I should share this Hurricane update, how my family is able to continue with their work. The NetZero personal HotSpot is working beautifully, and came in the nick of time to keep us going in a home with no wifi, we were able to bring our own!
