@Microsoft Back to School!

I attended a fabulous event thrown by Microsoft and Maxim in NYC last week. I don’t often go to events in the evening, but I knew there was no way I could say no to Microsoft. Especially since they are the only operating system my computers have ever run. Also, the invite I received was one of the most thought out and personal invites I have ever received. I wish all PR firms did as excellent a job!

The 2 most important things I learned at the event that will help me are these: I don’t have to buy a new computer to get Windows 8 (with an upgradeable Windows 7 PC, you can upgrade in October for $14.99!) and the Windows phone that I thought would be completely obsolete in a few months, will not be. My windows 7 phone could not upgrade to windows 8 when available, but they will have a windows 7.8 upgrade. I thought the phone would become obsolete completely. Having Windows 7.8 on my phone for a small fee vs. buying a brand new Windows 8 phone is certainly more than good enough for me.

And did you know about Microsoft’s buy a PC, get a free Xbox offer? I am always looking for a deal or a sale, this is a great one! Students who purchase a new Windows PC for $699 or more will get a free Xbox 360. Juts what they need for college! Wrong. It will distract them, but it is perfect for the parents, add the Kinect (our favorite gaming system) and the parents back home get to exercise together with the various Dance videos! We just got Dance Central 3, and anyone reading this who saw me at a party in May, knows I am in desperate need to learn the hot kids dance, The Dougie, which is on here – look for that youtube video someday!
