In the olden days, a seltzer man came to your house and delivered these dozens of clunky, cumbersome, heavy seltzer bottles to your home. The good news was, you left him your unused bottles and they were recycled/used again. The bad news is, as you can see from the pictures of my own parents house, they take up a lot of space and are not an efficient way to get seltzer into your own home. Yes, in the year 2012, as you can clearly see above, my parents still get their seltzer from the seltzer man. Possibly the last seltzer delivery man in America today!
Your other option for bringing seltzer into your home, was buying the bottles from the supermarket yourself. Not a bad option, unless you go through a dozen bottles in a week. Then it becomes about carrying a lot of bottles in and out of the house, and making sure you recycle them.
But wait! The best option is available for your home:
I may sound like an ad, but truth be told I had heard about the Soda Stream from several people who raved about it. I finally got to test one out for myself and I was not disappointed, but rather thrilled! The instructions were so easy, by the time I glanced at them, I had put it together. And in this house I usually rely on my spouse for the mechanical stuff. A few easy steps!
I do have one suggestion. Read the instructions. You know I was so excited that I started the process of carbonating my water before securing the bottle. That’s not a mistake you need to make twice.
In less than 60 seconds I have my own seltzer water. The kit comes with 12 sample flavors, and many more available for purchase, to continue the process and turn your carbonated water into soda. And since it is the weekend, my son and I are allowed the treat of soda, during the week seltzer is as far as we go. All from the comfort of my own home!
Delicious, easy, simple, and tasty. You can even control how much carbonation goes into your seltzer. You can make it super bubbly, or not so bubbly. You are in control, you decide. And no more lugging dozens of heavy bottles from the store to your home, or from your front door where the delivery guys leaves the soda, to your refrigerator. The amount of space needed to store this is much less than a dozen or more bottles.
Availability on refills is great! The hardware store on my corner has all the refills I cold possibly want. Their price still works out cheaper than buying bottles. I knew I would love this item, everyone I spoke to that has one raves about it.
Now I have to purchase my next Soda Stream and give it to my dad as a gift. He tried to leave my house with the one I was testing!
And, this is an Earth friendly item. No more bottles to recycle because they are all your own reusable bottles. And recycling the carbon dioxide containers is easy, the company gives you a label to send it back to them when you are purchasing your next one.
