I am one lucky blogger. I have written before about getting to go to events for brands that I am already a big fan of, and Wednesday night was another of those times. Marshalls and T.J.Maxx combined efforts and had their Summer Soiree at a fancy hotel not far from where I live.
For this post I thought I would show you the great items I was able to pick out for myself as a way to illustrate what I continually say about these stores. They get the best merchandise and sell it to us at a great price. And as I was reminded, not only do these stores each get 10,000 new items a week, they are also the current season and style. And they have everything. I have bought Legos and sea salt at these stores. I have bought Dolce & Gabbana underwear for myself, and New Balance shorts with matching top for my son. And every post I remind you about the 12 inch non stick skillet that I bought for my mother-in-law, the cook, for Christmas, 2010. She still talks about it, how her least favorite son-in-law got her the best gift!!
My first pick of the night was this beautiful Marc Jacobs watch. More than half off. I am famous for shopping the sales at every store, Marshalls and T.J.Maxx make it so easy for me as everything is on sale all the time!
Waterford crystal glasses. What an elegant gift for my friends wedding. Uh oh, if they read this blog post they may think I did not spend enough on them.Did you know you could get Waterford Crystal at T.J.Maxx? I was pleasantly shocked!
What a beautiful bag for my mother-in-law for the Summer. Also perfect for her, as she just came back from a cruise, she will love this bag for her next one! And here I get to illustrate the real discount at Marshalls and T.J.Maxx. When they write down the original retail amount on their tag, they always put a lower figure than what I usually know to be the real department store price. So when you see the Marshalls/T.J.Maxx price you may thing you are getting 40% off and it could really be 50% off as I illustrate above: the tag says compare at $68, but the department store tag says $78. I feel like they are too modest to even tell us how much more we are saving!
Lastly, I wanted to throw in these shoes I bought before this event. The price was reasonable but that is not why I bought these shoes. I wrote about the Bar Mitzvah I went to awhile back, but I never mentioned how I had no clothes for my son. I usually keep a pair of dress shoes on hand for an emergency for my son, but since he really never wears them, I hadn’t noticed that we had none in his current size. Marshalls to the rescue. These were the perfect shoe, almost a half sneaker, half shoe. Something my son could not argue about with me, he does not like wearing hard leather shoes. Phew!
Half a mile walk from my house is a mini mall with a TJMaxx on the top floor and a Marshalls in the basement. Whenever I need something, that is where I go, no matter whether it is for a gift for someone, or emergency clothes/shoes for my family!

Disclosure: I attended an event for Marshalls and T.J.Maxx and was allowed to pick the above gifts (except for the shoes) to take with me. I also received a gift card for attending the event. All opinions are always 100% my own and honest.
That watch is TDF!! I love a good bargain!! I find the best stuff at Marshall’s. Their clearance items can be hit or miss, but when you snag a deal it’s usually a huge one.
