All natural sunscreen! Yay! In years past I grabbed whatever was on the drugstore shelf and sprayed it all over my son. He has fair skin and of course I do not want him to get a burn, and these days we have to worry about permanent sun damaged skin, not just a summer burn. Especially with the skin cancers on both sides of my family.
I was at a lovely event at the home of my dear blog friend Amy, and was introduced to Banana Boats newest line of sunscreen products, Natural Reflect. Only 2 active ingredients, and they are both natural. What more could a parent ask for?
What was even more reassuring for me was that I was able to talk to an expert representing the company:
“Banana Boat Brand has added a new, natural sunscreen to its line of effective, proven protection. This 100% naturally sourced mineral sunscreen, active with Zinc Oxide, deflects UVA and UVB rays — and is ideal for sensitive and delicate skin.” I memorized what I was told! And, as hot as it has been in NY, I was at least smart enough to stay in the shade. Thanks to Adam for taking this candid picture!
Camp starts this week and I now have a sun screen I am comfortable putting on my son before we leave the house in the morning. Thanks Banana Boat!
But Wait! Go to the Banana Boat Facebook Page and pledge to get the kids to spend time outside every day this summer, and, for every pledge made, they will donate one bottle of Banana Boat Sunscreen Natural Reflect Lotion to Paul Newman’s Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, a summer camp for children coping with cancer and other serious illnesses. You can donate without getting up from your computer! I just did it!

Thanks so much for coming, Mitch – it was great to see you!
There isn’t a Banana Boat product that isn’t great. You folks know your stuff about sunscreen and all natural is even better. Keep up the good work, I use and love your products. Smell great too!
If you have a great giveaway on your products, I will be entering for sure. Facebook fan as Patricia Tiede
We try to be very aware of what we are putting in (and on) our bodies. If you read what the other stuff does to your body AND our environment you would never buy it again. Oxybenzone, a hormone-disruptor found in MOST sunscreens, is one ingredient to avoid—and if you don’t want to do it for yourself, do it for the planet: Every year, 4,000 to 6,000 tons of chemical sunscreen comes off our bodies (and into the ocean), destroying the coral reef in the process.
