“Based on DreamWorks Animation’s new upcoming animated film, Madagascar 3: The Video Game puts players in the role of their favorite Madagascar characters, including Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, and Gloria the Hippo. In a new and original adventure, the gang travel through Europe by way of a traveling circus and must put on the show of their lives if they ever want to make their way home to New York.
Players will be able to experience the excitement of the circus by completing challenging and sometimes suspiciously zany missions given by the Penguins, performing amazing publicity stunts on some of Europe’s most notable landmarks, and dazzling the crowd with circus acts fit only for a Madagascar-style Circus Extravaganza! All the Madagascar friends are along for the ride in this comedic circus adventure including King Julien, Maurice and Mort, the chimps Phil and Mason, the Penguins, plus their new circus pals Stefano the sea lion, Vitaly the Siberian tiger and Gia the jaguar.”
We are super excited for this new movie and the video game. My entire family are huge fans of the Madagascar franchise, from my father who requests the first movie be viewed every time he visits, to my son taping the Penguins weekly cartoon. I had a chance to preview about 25 minutes of the movie last month and it just increased my excitement, it looks to be another huge hit for Dreamworks.
And the video, which I got to preview as well, looks to be super fun! While some of the characteristics of the game are similar to other games as far as earning points, increasing skills to unlock levels, etc., this is the first major game based on a circus and all that would entail: after all, you haven’t seen anything until you try, as scared Melman, the giraffe, or Gloria, the hippo, to negotiate the tight rope walking! We love that you can play as your favorite character!
You also get to experience all the venues that the characters have adventures in, in the movie! It was especially funny to my son when he saw the pictures of the characters in cartoon Paris, as we were just in the adult cartoon Paris in Las Vegas! This game takes you all through Europe, besides Paris, you hit Pisa, London, and Monte Carlo! I enjoy seeing the cobblestone streets of Europe as we have not been there in over 9 years.
The multi-player action is also something that my son is just starting to explore with his friends, and this is the perfect game for him to enjoy with his classmates . We can’t wait for our review copy in June!
