The animals at Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden are merely ambassadors of their species. So says the brochure. I am an animal lover and have visited this mini zoo every time I have been in Vegas. It is phenomenal. You cannot get anywhere near this close to the predators at my favorite zoo, the Bronx Zoo. But here you can see the animals up close and personal. And what I especially love about this exhibit is that the animals do not live here. They live out of town on a ranch with other wild animals and take turns being on display for the tourists.
And they have a breeding program! Last time we were here my son and I stayed for 45 minutes watching the baby tigers and leopard and listened to the keeper talk about their playfulness. It was wonderful! This is just half of my most favorite exhibit in Las Vegas and well worth the admission price!
The other half of this amazing exhibit is the Dolphin Habitat. These dolphins do not perform for you, they just live here and hang out with their trainers, practicing routines, getting fed, and generally just swimming around. These animals are gorgeous! They are spread out over 3 pools and there were a couple of babies that had been born here last year. Again, you are up close and personal with these magnificent creatures!
And now we get to the 1st item on my bucket list – to be a dolphin trainer for a day. They do sell that and someday I would love to participate!
