What could be better than a Broadway matinee during the President’s week vacation! We had no plans other than family visits, so when we were offered tickets to “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,” we had to jump at the opportunity!
But wait! Nick Jonas is the star! As a too cool for school tween boy, my son could not admit he was impressed, but he was. A Jonas brother! Plus, my son knows this is the gift my niece has asked for, for her Sweet 16! I can’t wait to tell her we sat in the second row!
The play also starred Beau Bridges, it was awesome to be able to see these stars so close. You can see them sweat from the 2nd row! It was such am extra treat to see the action from up close, I have certainly spent my share of Broadway show viewing from the upper reaches of the house.
Lastly, Michael Urie, of Ugly Betty fame, was also in the show! I gasped when I saw him come on stage, I had no idea! 3 stars for the price of 1! And, everyone was terrific, not that there was ever a question.
I loved the show. I was a little nervous that my son, at 8 3/4, would not be as appreciative. He started with a little bit of an attitude, he told me later he didn’t think a show about business would be interesting. Clearly I hadn’t explained the play before we went. Needless to say, this was his 2nd Broadway play and he also loved it. He goes to shows on a regular basis, but Broadway shows take everything to the next level which enthralls my son. He was happy they made the play about business this much fun.
My mom has actually called me for my review this morning, they are trying to get tickets for this Saturday! I have a special Family 4 pack offer for you as well if you would like to get tickets here. This is where my mother-in-law will be getting my niece’s Sweet 16 present from!
Below is the proud mother of Nick Jonas, Denise Jonas, sharing her thoughts on her son’s performance:

Mitch, you are too funny! I could feel your excitement about this experience. How lucky you were to see it and how lucky to live in NYC. Dang, I want to go.
He seems like such a great young man and mature beyond his years.
