Master pastry chef Johnny Iuzzini kicked off the Electrolux I “Heart” Induction campaign in NYC this week, along side Chef Anne Burrell, restauranteur and Food Network Star who did the same for the Frigidaire version. using the power and precision of induction technology to serve up sweet treats for a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner. The year long campaign is designed to educate consumers about the benefits of induction cooking.
I had never heard of induction cooking. It is pretty remarkable. And the key is magnetism, so since our hands are not magnetic, you can touch the stove and not get burned! I enjoyed them showing us how to test your pots and pans at home to see if they would work with induction – they simply stuck magnets on all the cookware! The items that had the magnet stuck to them would work on these stove tops.
Some of the highlights of this style of cooking that impressed me the most were:
Boil Water in 90 Seconds – More responsive than gas or electric, and the Power Assist function generates rapid heat, so you can bring water to a boil quickly, often in only in 90 seconds.
Exceptional Temperature Control – Adjust heat with greater accuracy than gas or electric cooktops, especially at lower settings.
Cooking Flexibility – The sensors automatically detect the presence of magnetic cookware, activate the induction field and adjust it to the exact size of the pan.

to return and the vicious cycle of bad behavior begins all over again. Centers often provide board and wetsuit hire so that once you
have the basics nailed, you can practice techniques in your own time.
