In 2012, the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society will take visitors on a trip to a whole new Philadelphia International Flower Show. Guests will have fun, learn more, and be wowed by real-time floral competitions, the world’s largest lettuce wall, internationally renowned speakers, and a whole new layout of displays. My family is planning a trip to Philadelphia as part of our see Amercia first tour (we’ve hit Las Vegas, Washington, D.C., and Boston so far) and we are considering including this awesome show in our travel plans!
“Hawaii: Islands of Aloha,” this year’s rallying theme, will introduce a tropical experience that blends next-stage digital technology with the natural beauty and rich culture of the islands, and so much more. This is not your grandmother’s Flower Show … but she’s going to love it!
Known as the Nation’s Flower Show, this year’s presentation will take place March 4-11 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
“This is a Show that will appeal to anyone who enjoys excitement, fantastic design, and a full-tilt experience,” Becher said. “Whether you’re a Show veteran or a first-timer, you’ve never seen a Flower Show like this.”
The 2012 Philadelphia International Flower Show also offers a host of opportunities to engage children in the fun of gardening. Toddlers, youngsters and teens are invited to do hands-on planting, flower arranging, Hawaii-inspired arts and crafts, and earth-loving activities in the all-new Einstein Healthcare Network Family Lounge powered by Sprout on March 4-11.
The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society has even arranged a specially priced Family Fun Pak which includes tickets for two adults and two children and a one-year membership with PHS, all for $70. Advance tickets are available online at www.theflowershow.com.
One major attraction of the Family Lounge will be the appearance of a character from
Universal Pictures’ “Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax,” on Sundays, March 4 and 11, from 2-5 p.m. An adaptation of the beloved children’s book by Dr. Seuss, the animated adventure is scheduled to be released as a full-length motion picture on March 2, just prior to the Show. See the trailer for “The Lorax” on my blog preview post with video trailer here!
