Pan Am!

Pan American Airlines reigned supreme in the 1960’s. And I got to visit the set in Brooklyn, NY!

We boarded the actual plane used in the show, we watched a scene being filmed for the finale, and we all got to take some pictures with the stars of the show! I am waiting for their approval before those are posted.

This is just a teaser post, there will be more to follow. I do want to say that what struck me most as we were talking to the stars of the show, was how excited they were to be learning about America’s recent history as they were working on this series. Because it is a period piece, taking place almost 50 years ago, a tremendous amount of hard work has gone into making the entire filming correct, down to the TV sets pictured n the stewardesses rooms. This period also required the actor/actresses to learn much different behavior for men and women then those of us living in 2012. 1963 was a far different year for our society, and the world. The actors excitement at this aspect of their job was invigorating!

And you know I always bring something to the mix that no one else does! We watch this show also to look for one particular actor – my father-in-law! Since retiring from the night club business several years ago, he has begun acting in extra roles all over NYC! He is a very handsome man and has filmed 3 Pan Am episodes, so my whole family is connected to this show!
