I had no intention of buying the Nintendo 3DS. It was $250.
Then they dropped the price to $170. My interest was awakened.
Soon after, GameStop offered me $70 to trade in my DS Lite that was 2 years old that I payed $100 for.
Guess who bought a $250 Nintendo 3DS for $70? Yes, that is how I rationalize. Am I sorry? Absolutely not. This is a great hand held console. The technology is awesome and we are quite happy with our upgrade. My son is 8 1/2 and with the tech improvements available on this console every few months, I feel we are ready.
And at 8 1/2 I don’t want him on the 3D mode too much. Luckily this is the one thing he agrees with me on and does go back and forth between the modes. I just don’t want him to get dizzy. And with no special 3D glasses needed, I have to trust his decision making.
Did I mention the 3D picture taking? This device has much to offer!
This is a great holiday gift for the kids who need the next generation in gaming, this is the wave of the future, and the Internet access does afford the kids some great new capabilities!

Thanks for your post! My boys want the 3D games, but I held off because one boy has eye problems and the 3D bothers him in movies, I thought this would, too. I knew you could play 2D games, wasn’t aware you could turn the 3D off on the new ones. I think maybe we’ll consider the trade in, too.

I wasn’t aware that GameStop did trade-ins. Thanks for the info!
