OK, I was not actually on the show. In reality I was watching the taping from the non-green green room the whole time and not even in the live audience! That was fine with me, I was hanging with some other bloggers and some folks from Dr. Oz’s staff – that was way cool! And after all, we were having private time with Dr. Oz on stage after the taping, so I did not feel that I was missing anything, just getting psyched for an awesome experience!
Like I said, we watched the show from the green room. Dr. Oz has been highlighting a weight loss challenge for a couple of months, Transformation Nation, and a lot of this episode was about weight loss: healthy eating, easy exercises, and interesting recipes. The idea of losing weight, 1 or 2 pounds a week, is a great way to not scare people away from a diet plan. That had the greatest appeal to me in this episode as I could afford to take off some weight as you can see from my various pictures.
The Transformation Challenge includes a free weigh in at a Weight Watchers location and a chance to win 1 Million dollars – that is certainly an incentive to make an effort to drop some weight! Check here for the info!
When the episode taping concluded they corralled us bloggers into another green room, this one with some nice nut snacks – you know that worked for me! We were then led to the stage area to meet and chat with Dr. Oz!
I asked Dr. Oz about the apple juice controversy from a few weeks ago. My issue was and is this – where do the raw ingredients come from that are in our foods? It may say made in the USA, but no one is telling us where the components are coming from. That is awful, especially since before this episode I did not know these were 2 different issues! We are trying to raise our kids in a healthy manner and the government is not supporting this. Some corporations are just trying to be as cheap as possible in their manufacturing to make money for their shareholders, and we don’t know what’s in our food. Having Dr. Oz championing this, like any issue he takes on, can only help us all!
Dr Oz’s website is here.
Check your local listings for the time of the show, it is well worth it!
Disclosure: I received no compensation for attending this event. Dr. Oz did give us all copies of one of his books. I attended the event on behalf of the One2One Network.
And thank-you Amy for this paparazzi shot!
It sounds like you had a good time. I think by having a million dollars as an incentive, a lot more people might make the decision to lose weight. I know I will; I’ve already decided to sign up after I write this. Thanks!
You meet cool people!
Thanks – I’ll be watching
How timely! My aunt was just telling me about Dr. Oz in light of my dad’s recent health issues. I know who he is just didn’t know how amazing his site is, thanks for sharing!
