As part of the Brother P-Touch Ambassador label maker program, I decided to do a makeover of my son’s bedroom and his playroom, otherwise known as the living room. These are the before pictures. I am a blogger and seem to get more products than I can hide away in the closets. I have used my son’s dressers and just pile stuff to the ceiling.
Luckily this program came along and I used it to help me to organize. And it worked. The clothes that I did not recycle to relatives are being donated. But I already fulfilled my donations for this year so I needed a labeled bin for that. I have several categories of toys that I receive that I then use for giveaways: board games, girl toys, and boy toys. They are now in containers and labeled.
I also don’t have room in my apartment to store all our seasonal clothes so I have 1 bin for adult swim items, and 1 bin for my son’s swim goggles and bathing suits. We sometimes take winter vacations in sunny spots and this makes it easier to find the clothes to pack.
I have an 8 year old son in the house and we have started to accumulate some remote control devices – now they are stored and labeled!
Yay for this label maker which I put together with the instructions, they were easy enough that even I could do it, that is typically my spouse’s job.
The bedroom is now organized to the point of being unrecognizable from the piles of crap that used to reign supreme in there! The label maker forced me to organize!
One of the things that stood out for me with this label maker is the fact that, when I placed them on the containers and put my fingers on them to spread them out flat, there was no ink showing up on my fingers afterwards. I appreciate the fact that they print out dry and there is no smearing!
Furthermore, these labels do not fall off. I do hope to reuse these bins with other items when we finish with this stuff. It is no problem to relabel and just paste another label on top. I had already made some errors and just pasted a new label over an old one. They adhere perfectly. We leave the windows open when it is raining and we also have dry heat in the colder months. None of these temperature changes adversely affected the labels adherence.
On to the living room, which is the playroom. The bedroom is for sleeping and storage. I prefer he not have a TV in there and he play out where the family sits.
Before:
We have many bins of Legos, I will admit they need no labeling as too many sets are jumbled up. This label maker would have been a great item to have when we started buying Lego sets to keep the pieces in order with their associated instructions. Oh well, but that is now my advice for the younger set when you start your Lego collections!
Thank-you Brother P-Touch Label Maker for helping me to organize my home!
