It’s an All–New Show, where the World’s Greatest Circus artists are presented under an intimate Big Top, and no seat is more than 50 feet from the ring! Let your imagination soar and summon the most amazing acts — A juggler with a suit to fit his sweet feats of fancy handiwork! A mechanical doll who comes alive in a sinuous balancing act! Spirited horses, frolicsome dogs, and a capybara and porcupine to perk up the sawdust party! Audacious acrobats who astound with athletic grace! Comical conjurors with magical moments of grand illusion! The aerial daring of the trapeze flyers! A singing Ringmistress and the Big Apple Circus Band creating the ringing melodies of memories to last! And Grandma !! Yes, Grandma, apogee of comical aspiration and mirthful joy! Your dreams will inspire a Big Apple Circus of living thrills and marvelous delight — a celebration of the imagination — an astonishing circus world of wonder!
This was our third visit to the Big Apple Circus. We first went 2 years ago with my son’s 1st grade class, I begged to be a chaperone on that trip. We instantly fell in love.
The circus takes place in a tent in Lincoln Center in the NYC. It is not a large arena, it is more intimate. All seats give you a great view of all the acts. What also made it even more intimate were the occasional opportunities for audience participation! Again, the size of the space makes for a more interesting experience because you are so close to the action!
The Flying Cortes Trapeze Act was awesome. The timing, the strength, the sheer ability to fly through the air – it was quite remarkable!
Anna Volodko made twirling through the air seem effortless.
Dimitry Chernov was quite the juggler in this fantastic looking costume.
Scott & Muriel were the illusionists. They were amazing. Right in front of us and we could not figure out how she disappeared! And Muriel is hilarious!
Those are just a few of the acts we saw. My son loves going to this circus, and we all had a great time. With tickets starting at $15, there is no excuse for anyone not to take advantage of this great experience! Hurry as the season ends Jan. 8,2012.

This is Grandma’s last season, she will be sorely missed, her sense of humor is a huge part of this great show!
