The Duck tours of Boston use GM trucks from the early 1940’2 that have survived until today and are used all over the world as tourist conveyances. The army had requisitioned them and added a hull and they were actually all used in WW2 to help the soldiers go from the water right up onto the beach. Talk about some sturdy Detroit work, they are still in use some 70 years later. And they were 90% made by women! Is that why they have lasted so long? The men were off at the war.
That looks so fun! Definitely sharing this with DH so we can check it out next time we visit Beantown.
