Denise DeZao, mother of abuse survivor, media personality Judge Jeanine Pirro, media personality Chief Creative Officer for Liz Claiborne Tim Gunn, Senior VP of Corporate Communications at Liz Claiborne Jane Randel and Teen Dating abuse expert and Senior Staff Attorney at Break the Cycle Tonya Turner attend the Love is Not Abuse iPhone app launch at the Lucky Brand Store on August 10, 2011 in New York City.
Today a new phone app was introduced for the iPhone, Love is not Abuse. It relates back to an event I attended in December at the Liz Claiborne, Inc. headquarters, It’s Time to Talk, an event all about stopping dating violence and other abuse against women.
This app is downloadable for free from iTunes. It is a must have for any parent of a teenager. As close as we might be, we can never know the inner workings of our kids dating relationships, especially if they are away at college. As much as I plan to stalk my son at college, I probably will have to spy on him from home.
This app actually simulates dating abuse scenarios to drive home the dangers of teen dating violence. There can be nothing more important then for all of us to learn to recognize the warning signs that our children might be in a situation that is dangerous and that they cannot extricate themselves from.
I was able to take 2 amateur videos of Mr. Gunn discussing this new app, I urge everyone to download this free item now!
Disclosure: I received no compensation for this post.
Hey Mitch! Thanks for sharing the information about the app. I just finished downloading it. My son’s 12 , well 4 months shy of 13, and is texting and face booking with friends already. Just getting myself prepared for when the young ladies start calling and pestering him!
