We are Zone C, Zone A was evacuated, Zone B is being “advised.”
Thankfully I am already prepared. I lived through 9/11, I lived through the massive blackout of 2003. My son was 3 months old for that one. I have been able to use that as an excuse to have 22 flashlights in reserve!
I also bought 2 portable generators at Costco. 8 years ago. And never charged them! My spouse finally realized they would come in handy, but he doesn’t realize I lost the plugs to charge them! Luckily I found 1 of them in the last possible spot I could have hidden them away.
Food stock? I have been prepping for the end of the Mayan calendar in 2012, so we have plenty of water and canned soup. Of course all the can openers are electric! Just kidding. The official story is we are ready for anything, even a Zombie attack – yes, I watch too many of those movies!
Who’s the crazy one now??
I double ordered Chinese food last evening, I am about to order the last delivered pizza in NYC for dinner (at 1 pm!). We are safe unless the electric goes and we can’t watch TV!

Stay safe! I had to chuckle at the flashlight thing. I have a friend like that and it’s always “guy can’t have too many flashlights, ya know!” 🙂 He even has some helmet-type thingies with… yeah, a flashlight hooked onto them. I can see how hands free would come in “handy” (hehe) but… well maybe one or two, not seven! 🙂
Extra Chinese food, pizza, and enough water. Well now that sounds like a cozy weekend while the winds howl! –Katharina

Did you know that only 3 out of every 10 households have an emergency kit? For your next giveaway, a 72 hour backpack emergency kit would be a fantastic prize. beprepared.com has them, so does amazon.com. Also, ( in case electricity goes out), an oil lamp ( with a handle so you can hang it out of reach of kids/pets, is nice to have too.)writer61@yahoo.com
