Best Buy and Citibank have collaborated to bring out a new application for your phone whereby you can order Best Buy items at your convenience from your phone, anywhere you are, day or night!
This mobile app for the iPhone and Android devices will enable users to make purchases using their “Thank-you” points from their Citibank card. You earn points for everything you use your credit card for. As the points add up, you can then use them for purchases at Best Buy.
The Citi points and Best Buy inventories are connected so that you can be sitting in your local Starbucks, use this app, and pick up your purchase at your local Best Buy after you finish your coffee!
And, you can use points from friends or family (if you can talk them into giving them to you). pooling points could give you the opportunity for even bigger purchases. I myself would love a new flat screen 3D TV courtesy of all my relatives points!
I did get to test this system while at the event last week. I set up my account on the phone, was given 2500 points as a courtesy, and ordered a new set of ear buds for use at the gym! My item was waiting at the pick up desk within 20 minutes and I was off to do aerobics!

Disclosure: I received the 2500 points as a courtesy to test out this new app. Hence the ear buds. I would also like to add that I always use credit cards for purchases to get points. I will not go into detail at this point, I will just say a little over 8 years ago, my spouse and I used our Citibank Aadvantage miles to go to Arizona to adopt our newborn child.
