My son just turned 8 years old this past weekend.
Do you know what that means in terms of TV interest?
It means his #1 show above all else is SpongeBob.
It means his default show no matter what the situation is SpongeBob.
When I was asked to review this new DVD coming out June 14th, I thought it was a no brainer, we love everything Spongebob. I think most kids do at the 5-12 year old range and beyond. I enjoy it myself as long as it isn’t the fifth time I am seeing that particular episode. My son doesn’t have that issue, sometimes he can see the same episode twice in one day.
This new disc contains 8 episodes. My favorite episode is “Back to the Past,” because in addition to your regular superheroes, Barnacle Boy and Mermaid Man (Ernest Borgnine and Tim Conway!), we have the voices of my favorite Dynamic Duo, Adam West and Burt Ward, my fav Batman heroes of the 1960’s (yes, I am that old).
The other episodes are fun as well, and this is a great DVD to take on trips. We keep a collection of SpongeBob DVD’s on hand for traveling. They worked great when I hooked up my laptop to the electrical outlet on the Amtrak train we just took to Washington, DC. And sometimes hotels do not have any kid friendly TV stations in the evening and I know my son needs a show to unwind with at night on trips away from home – out comes my laptop with my DVD’s, usually SpongeBob.
And, this DVD contains a bonus episode from the new hit show on Nickelodeon, T.U.F.F. Puppy. Voiced by Jerry Trainor of iCarly fame (and before that Drake & Josh, all favs in my house), this
Turbo Undercover Fighting Force, aka T.U.F.F., is the slickest secret crime-crushing unit ever seen. Or anyway it was until Dudley Puppy (Jerry Trainor) shows up!
This DVD is available at all retailers on June 14, 2011.
It is a great addition to any DVD collection for your kids!
Do you follow SpongeBob on Facebook yet?
Disclosure: I received a copy of this DVD for review. I will point out that we are completely biased in favor of anything and everything SpongeBob at this point in my son’s life and I have written about my love of SpongeBob as a role model, he does have the best work ethic ever, never misses a day and is super loyal to his job!
