“Truth Be Told” revolves around Annie Morgan (Candace Cameron Bure of Full House fame), a marriage counselor who – fearing her single status will ruin her chance at a dream job hosting a radio advice program – conspires with an old college friend (David James Elliott of JAG fame), a recent widower with two teenagers, to pass as a married couple after her potential boss invites them to spend the weekend at his New Mexico ranch.
I was given the opportunity to review the film for you before it’s release next Saturday.
This is what we used to call a wholesome movie. There seem to not be so many of those around anymore. It is a simple story about a lie that of course grows to large to contain. Haven’t we all been there.
A widower and a single marriage counselor (a contradiction in terms to many, but perhaps not in reality!) play at being a married couple to earn charity funding and a radio job respectively. These stories never work out when the truth is not told. We enjoyed the beautiful western scenery as the truth indeed would play out before us. A great movie for the whole family to enjoy without worry of racy language or other inappropriate scenes. It does present an opportunity to discuss lying with your kids. I have told mine that it doesn’t pay because I always catch him, I tell him I can’t help him unless I know the truth and he reacts to that because he always wants my support. Phew!
The premiere of “Truth Be Told” is on Saturday, April 16th on FOX at 8pm/7ct.

Disclosure: I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of P&G and received a movie kit to facilitate my review and a gift code to thank me for taking the time to participate.
And here’s that picture of me and my dear friend, Candace Cameron Bure!
