We tried this game out a few days ago and it was a lot of fun. It is rated E10 and my son did need a bit of assistance as he is still 7 and some parts were challenging for him. Of course he wants to be older than he is so he prefers the E10 games anyway. This also gives the dads more of a reason to get involved with his gaming, I think parents need to stay on top of their kids activities, just my own personal advice.
The visuals in this game are impressive. The world gradually turns from black and white to an explosion of colors and patterns. You start off with only the primary colors (blue, red, and yellow) but, later on, learn to create the more complex colors (green, purple, orange, and brown).
De Blob absorbs color like a sponge and then paints everything it touches. As the color returns to the world, the oppressive regime loses power. As the stages progress, more objectives are revealed, while, between stages, funny animations keep the story moving. My son always enjoys a game where there is good versus not good . I am glad the good guy is the blob, I am always happy when anything encourages my son to fight for good and not evil! And what fun being a blob which is coincidentally the shape of his dads!
There is a time limit for every stage, this is a component that keeps players on their toes. Then there are enough time-extension bonuses to set goals for the player to have something tangible to earn.
My son is an artist, so the restoring of color to the world of de Blob 2 is perfect for him. He played through several levels and wanted to continue but it was 10 pm at night!
And as an extra bonus, de Blob 2 for Nintendo Wii is on special starting today at ToysRUs, go out and get it!
Disclosure: We received a copy of de Blob 2 from THQ for review purposes. All opinions expressed herein are always that of myself and my reviewer, my assistant blogger, Paul.
And here’s my paparazzi pic, my son with the blob!

Returning to the topic, I do hope that the trend is justified and that in the end during the E3, something innovative, graphics-buff and cheap will be presented. wii 2
