From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:
“Arm & Hammer is a registered trademark of Church and Dwight, an American manufacturer of household products. The logo of this brand is a muscular arm holding a hammer. Originally associated only with baking soda and washing soda, beginning in the 1970s the company began to expand the brand to other products using baking soda as a deodorizing ingredient, including toothpaste, laundry detergent, underarm deodorant, and cat litter. The Arm & Hammer brand is one of the longest-running and most recognized U.S. trademarks.”
I attended a “tea party” to discuss Arm and Hammer products. I have to state from the onset, I have always had a box of Arm and Hammer baking soda in my refrigerator since I moved into my first apartment over 26 years ago. That is the training I received from my mom. This is a product that I have always believed in. So yes, I am prejudiced in their favor.
Jill Cordes, television personality and Food Network contributor, led the discussion. She has a toddler daughter and centered part of the discussion on keeping the kids nursery and playroom clean and fresh smelling with Arm & Hammer baking soda. Many products now contain this great ingredient, we were shown a diaper genie that uses this baking soda to relieve the smells associated with dirty diapers. We have all experienced those moments!
There is paint now made with Arm & Hammer baking soda to absorb some of the odors in the house. Laundry detergent, toothpaste, and many other products contain Arm & Hammer baking soda to enhance their capabilities.
I told you I was prejudiced in favor of this product for many years prior to this event. I now have a container by the sink for sprinkling baking soda over the garbage when the odor is too much (and I am not ready to go all the way out to the garbage chute). I have a container in the bathroom. And as always, the one in my fridge which I was reminded needs to be changed every 30 days. Sometimes I have gone longer, lets leave it at that!

Disclosure: I attended a delicious breakfast and received a gift bag for my participation in this event. I would like to note that I requested the invite as I have been a big fan of these products for decades.
