I admit I was nervous to walk 1/2 mile in 26 degree weather to the Firehouse, but it turned out the kids were a hardier bunch than me! The kids are studying social studies and this was one of the many field trips they had this Winter, I have enjoyed them all, watching the kids interview and participate in their community.
We looked for the Dalmatian, but it seems nowadays in NYC you need a cat, you can figure out why!
Of course the kids all wanted to play with the fire extinguishers, but alas, the Spring is a better time for that. It turned out to be a great field trip and I can’t wait for the next one!
