If you hurry to Rockefeller Center, you may still catch the Real/Simple Kodak Pop-up store at 10 West 49th Street.
Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending an event there to discuss greetings cards.
Bonnie Marcus (pictured above) introduced her personalized greeting card selection on the Kodak Picture Kiosks we can all find at our local CVS store. Bonnie is well known in greeting card circles because she sells her high end cards at the high end stores, and now they are available where I can shop!
I usually email my choices to my local warehouse club and travel several boroughs to pick up my holiday cards. I do this because it is very inexpensive. And it looks very inexpensive. When I need special occasion cards I go to the CVS card section and look for something reasonably priced. That is 1/2 block away. Those were the only options I used to have available to me.
Now I have the alternative of picking a card at the Kodak kiosk at CVS, and putting in my own text and pictures. Everything can be sized and designed to your liking. For less than the price of what I just paid for my parents Anniversary card, I can send them something more personal, with a picture of their grandson, and with our own language. They key here is it will cost less and be completely personal. How do you say no to the perfect card?
What if your sister is having a birthday? My sister requires a special card from my son. It must be “To The Greatest Aunt That Ever Lived!” Guess what? For less money I can now go and design her card any way I like! I can add pictures of her nephew (my son). I can throw in a picture of her and my son. I can do whatever I like and say whatever she wants to hear!
And as I told Miss Marcus at the event, I can also go to the back of the card and type in that it cost $9.99, so my sister thinks we overspent on her! She loves that!
