My son and I were invited to a video party last week. As I recently announced, since my 7 1/2 year old son is the video game player in the house, he was promoted to assistant blog reviewer. I am lucky to have him on staff before he goes out and starts his own kids blog, then he will surely get invited to events without me!
THQ works with some great companies, including Dreamworks. We got to play the Megamind game for Wii before the general public! I always enjoy the “before the general public” stuff!
And who doesn’t love those pesky penguins? You will see that I am a big fan a little later on.
Needless to say we got to the party right after school ended and my son got to hang out and play video games for several hours, I cannot be more specific, the relatives reading this blog would not be happy with me. He played for a long time instead of doing homework! It’s OK we doubled up the next day. He had a great time and got to eat his favorite kid foods, hamburgers, franks, fries, etc. I did not walk away hungry either! And he was working, he was doing the reviews for this soon to be famous blog site! Needless to say he loved all the character games! There is also a wide range of offerings for the adults, from Pictionary to Wheel of Fortune to the Biggest Loser.

“We’ve designed the uDraw GameTablet to offer something for everyone: the kids can doodle, save their creations on an SD-Card and print their artwork for display on the refrigerator. Students can improve their skills through in-game tutorial lessons.
And the whole family can sit down together for family game time with products like Pictionary,” added Executive Vice President, THQ Kids, Family, Casual Games and Global Online Services, Martin Good.
“We are impressed with THQ’s innovative design and focus on bringing a new gameplay experience to the Wii owner with their uDraw GameTablet,” said Steve Singer, vice-president of Licensing for Nintendo of America. “Nintendo is committed to providing fun and unique experiences and THQ’s uDraw GameTablet seems destined to continue that trend.”
Did you notice Nintendo in there? This is the first time they are working this closely with a third party vendor, that is impressive.
My son had a great time with this new tech, you don’t even notice the Wii remote embedded in the tablet! There were writing games for this but my son most enjoyed breaking through many levels on Dood’s Big Adventure.
So now I have met the major movers behind the video game business. With a 7 1/2 year old son, they have also met their perfect market! This is going to be a great holiday season!
And now, the paparazzi pictures:

Disclosure: I did not receive any monetary compensation for this post, but I did get fed as usual!
And we had a blast!
