Right in the heart of Times Square! This wonderland for kids of all ages includes a high-tech makeover from its last incarnation on 5th Avenue, and is the largest Disney Store in North America.
“Highlights include a 20 foot tall Disney Princess Castle with a talking Magic Mirror and a 12 foot screen nestled in a 350 square foot theater which lets guests select favorite Disney film clips, videos, or classic animation. The store also offers New York City inspired products not found anywhere else.”
We were given a tour of the new store, 2 full stories of fun Disney products, which is even more fun now that Disney owns Marvel Comics. The Power Rangers and Cars franchises were starting to wear thin on my son, but once he eyed the Tron articles in the store, there was no pulling him away!
There was also a Cars building station, and when it comes to boys and construction, Disney sure has a great new angle because the wearing thin part of the earlier paragraph was thrown out the window.
There was also a media playroom. If you have read earlier posts, I am a big fan of Phineas and Ferb, and they were playing my favorite dance video from the show, Candace Flynn singing Squirrel in My Pants!
One thing that GayNYCDad offers his readers is discounts. I have been known to shop at all the Disney Store outlets to save money, but I did catch this on-line code for you to take to the new Times Square Store: PRINT to save 20%! It is also good for on-line purchases. Hurry, this amazing coupon expires 11-15-10.
