Thanks to Bandai and Cartoon Network, my family got to attend the huge NY Comic Convention at the Javits Center on Sunday.
This is something I have wanted to attend for years, and now with a 7 1/2 year old, it becomes even more important, because I want him to experience all NY has to offer.
We were very fortunate as bloggers to attend a VIP event for Ben 10, to celebrate the start of the new season on 10-10-10! We got to speak with the people who provide the actual voices behind the cartoon characters, and we got to watch them do their jobs actually voicing the characters on screen, right in front of us. It was awesome!
My son has been a fan since Ben was actually 10. He is now 16. The show has changed to reflect everyone’s teenage years and the aliens have increased. This is tough because I am a collector and cannot buy the toy figures as fast as they create them! But I am trying.
We started out at the Cartoon Network Lounge. There were photo opps but my son elected to play the video games they provided. That’s what happens at 7 1/2.
Then we were able to speak to the actors. They were very gracious and seemed to genuinely like each other and their work. Most had been discovered as voices for the “Teen Titans.” I have to say, Greg Sipes, the voice of Kevin Ethan Levin, sounded the most like his character when he was not in character. And he looked like a rock star! Ashley Johnson is the voice of Gwen and Yuri Rosenthal is the voice of Ben, they were all very generous with their time answering our silly questions, such as which was your favorite episode:
All in all, this was a fantastic experience for my family and I cannot thank Shauna, Lauren, and the rest of the wonderful staff for facilitating such an extraordinary experience for us all.

ToysRUs is having a Ben 10 Alien Hero and Legacy Omnitrix sale this week, I am going in to load up.
For disclosure purposes, we did receive the Ben 10 Mark 10 vehicle. I will be reviewing that in my toy holiday posts.

What a neat event!!!! So glad your son had an awesome time – I’m sure there will be a day when my boys are begging to go to stuff like this. I hope his dad is game, because if it’s left up to me I’m dragging Chase to tea parties with me (lol).
We went to Comic Con in San Diego for the first time this year. I can’t wait to my kids are old enough to enjoy it too. Wonder how NY compares. -Sarah
