From the Press Release:
ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J. – For 90 years, the familiar bell-ringing on any street in America signaled the coming of the Good Humor® man and his signature white truck full of delicious ice cream treats. Since revolutionizing the ice cream industry as the first ice-cream-on-a-stick, the Good Humor® ice cream brand has helped to create lasting memories for millions of Americans. This year, the iconic brand is celebrating its 90th anniversary and wants everyone to join in the fun creating new memories for generations to come.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO MY ICE CREAM!
I did not know this was the first ice cream on a stick! I just know, when I am held hostage to the Pied Piper like song of the ice cream truck, the siren taking us to the rocks to crash ourselves, at least the Good Humor choices are packaged and not filled with germs from the soft serve machine. This is what is on my mind as parent. My 7 year old and I wheel and deal as to whether he gets ice cream every day or however the negotiation goes. It’s not as simple as the olden days!
I was thrilled to be invited to an event to celebrate this 90th anniversary, because it meant I could eat Good Humor ice cream all afternoon! And as technology advances so does Good Humor, check out their Facebook page too.
Happy Anniversary as I toast with my personal favorite, Toasted Almond!
Disclosure: I did not get paid for this post. I did however get some free ice cream. I also entered a contest at http://www.goodhumor.com/, I suggest you do the same, email me if you win so we can split the proceeds!
Thank you for coming. It was great meeting you.
