I may very well talk about Kathie Lee all week. I had the opportunity at a blog event to conduct a short interview with her. She was most gracious and accommodating. I am officially a gushing fan forever.
When we mentioned that we both had children, Kathie Lee turned to her assistant (who I also give a lot of credit to for doing all the foot work!) and mentioned that she would like to send us her children’s book. This was completely unsolicited and extra gracious of Mrs. Gifford. She did not have to do this.
Needless to say the above book arrived the day after Kathie Lee’s assistant asked for my address. When my son saw it he was very excited and for some reason asked if it were signed. I do not know how a 7 year old would know to ask that question, but indeed it was signed, personally to him. He was very excited!
And guess what? I am very excited as well. To meet a TV personality, as gracious as Kathie Lee is, and for her to be so generous with her time, made me a fan forever. All the other celebs could take a lesson from her!
Disclosure: http://www.hayneedle.com/ threw the event to market their brand, they are an Internet company encompassing many product lines. Since they are web based, they can offer a myriad of choices to the consumer. Checkout their site and if you purchase a hammock by the end of the summer, they will make a donation to http://www.childhelp.com/, an agency that helps abused children. Kathie Lee is the Childhelp Celebrity Ambassador and thus, we got to spend time with her on that day.

I just wish she’d be nicer to Hoda on the Today show. Half of KLG’s comments to Hoda make me cringe. Either they’re extremely good friends who enjoy a little one-sided ribbing, or it’s some kind of experiment in just how much Hoda can take before she goes all postal and starts shooting.
I’m glad she was nice to you and didn’t make any catty comments about your hair!
